 Educational Qualification

  • Library Information Assistant – Graduate + Bachelor’s in Library Science
  • Technical Assistant – Bachelor’s degree in Science (Botany/Zoology/Forestry/Environmental Science etc.)
  • Technician (Field) – 10+2 with Science (60%)
  • Technician (Maintenance) – Matric + ITI in relevant trade
  • LDC – 12th Pass + Typing Speed
  • Forest Guard – 12th Pass with Science + Physical Standards
  • Stenographer – 12th Pass + 80 WPM Stenography
  • MTS – 10th Pass

Age Limit (As on Last Date)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age:
    • 27 Years (Most posts)
    • 30 Years (Technical Posts)
  • Age relaxation applicable as per Government rules.

 Salary (7th CPC Pay Level)

  • Level 6 – Library Information Assistant
  • Level 5 – Technical Assistant
  • Level 4 – Stenographer
  • Level 3 – Technician / Store Keeper
  • Level 2 – LDC / Forest Guard
  • Level 1 – MTS

 FRI Selection Process 2026

The selection process consists of three stages:

Stage I – Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • 100 Questions
  • Negative Marking (1/3 or 1/4 depending on post)
  • Duration: 2 to 3 Hours

Stage II – Descriptive Test (Qualifying)

  • Essay + Letter/Application (Hindi & English)
  • 50 Marks
  • Minimum Qualifying: 50%

Stage III – Skill/Trade Test (Qualifying)

  • Typing Test (LDC)
  • Physical Test (Forest Guard – 25 km walk for men, 14 km for women)
  • Stenography Test
  • Trade Test (Technician Maintenance)

Final merit will be based on CBT marks only (subject to qualifying other stages).

 Forest Guard Physical Standards

For Men:

  • Height: 165 cm
  • Chest: 79–84 cm
  • Walk: 25 km in 4 hours

For Women:

  • Height: 150 cm
  • Walk: 14 km in 4 hours
