Coal India Limited (CIL) has released a major recruitment notification for Management Trainees (MT) in E-1 Grade across multiple engineering and non-engineering disciplines. Eligible candidates can apply online from 12 May 2026 (10:00 AM) to 11 June 2026 (6:00 PM) through the official website.
CIL is a Schedule ‘A’ Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Coal and the largest coal-producing company in the world, contributing around 75% of India’s coal production.

Educational Qualification
Engineering Disciplines (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, E&T, Industrial)
- BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in relevant branch
- Minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD)
System Discipline
- BE/B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science/IT OR MCA (1st Class)
Geology
- M.Sc./M.Tech in Geology/Applied Geology/Geophysics
- Minimum 60% marks
Rajbhasha (Hindi)
- MA in Hindi (Minimum 60%)
- Graduation with Hindi & English as main subjects (50%)
Company Secretary
- Graduate in any discipline
- Associate/Fellow Member of ICSI
- Preference to candidates with experience in listed companies
⚠ Final year students (2025-26 batch) can apply if results are expected by 31 August 2026.
Age Limit (As on 30 April 2026)
- Maximum Age: 30 Years (UR/EWS)
Age Relaxation:
- OBC (NCL): 3 Years
- SC/ST: 5 Years
- PwD: 10–15 Years (Category-wise)
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Govt rules
- No age limit for CIL employees
Maximum age after relaxation should not exceed 56 years.
Application Fee

Selection Process
Selection will be based on Computer Based Test (CBT) only.
CBT Exam Pattern:
- Duration: 3 Hours
- Two Papers (100 marks each)
Paper I:
- General Knowledge
- Reasoning
- Numerical Ability
- General English
Paper II:
- Professional Knowledge (Discipline-specific)
- 100 MCQs per paper
- 1 mark each
- No negative marking
Minimum Qualifying Marks:

- ₹5,000 deducted monthly (refundable after 60 months without interest)
