SSC Hindi Translator Vacancy 2026 – Post Details
The recruitment includes the following posts:
- Junior Translation Officer (JTO) – Central Secretariat Official Language Service (CSOLS) – Level 6 (₹35,400–₹1,12,400)
- Junior Translation Officer (JTO) – Armed Forces Headquarters (AFHQ) – Level 6
- Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) / Junior Translator (JT) / JTO – Various Ministries – Level 6
- Senior Hindi Translator (SHT) / Senior Translator (ST) / Senior Translation Officer (STO) – Level 7 (₹44,900–₹1,42,400)

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Candidates must be:
- Citizen of India, OR
- Subject of Nepal/Bhutan, OR
- Person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries with eligibility certificate.
Age Limit (As on 01 August 2026)
- 18 to 30 years
- Candidates born between 02 August 1996 and 01 August 2008
Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST – 5 years
- OBC – 3 years
- PwBD – 10 years
- PwBD (OBC) – 13 years
- PwBD (SC/ST) – 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen – 3 years (after deduction of service)
Educational Qualification (As on 01.08.2026)
For Junior Hindi Translator / JTO / JT (Post Codes A–C):
- Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as compulsory/elective subject OR
- Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as compulsory/elective subject OR
- Master’s Degree in any subject with Hindi & English at degree level
AND - Diploma/Certificate in Translation (Hindi to English & vice versa) OR
- 2 years translation experience in Government office.
For Senior Hindi Translator (Post Code D):
- Same Master’s degree criteria as above
AND - Diploma/Certificate in Translation OR
- 3 years translation experience in Government office.

- General/OBC/EWS: ₹100/-
- SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Women: Exempted

Selection Process
The selection process consists of two papers:
Paper-I (Computer Based Examination)
- Objective Type (MCQs)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks per wrong answer
- Marks will be normalized if conducted in multiple shifts
Paper-II (Descriptive Paper)
- Translation and Essay writing
