BARC Junior Research Fellowship 2026 Eligibility

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 28 years (as on 01 August 2026)

Age relaxation:

OBC: 3 years
SC/ST: 5 years
PwBD: 10 years

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have excellent academic records and meet the following criteria:

Physics

M.Sc / Integrated M.Sc / BS-MS / BS (Research) in Physics
Mathematics must be a subject in B.Sc.

Chemistry

M.Sc in Chemistry (General / Organic / Physical / Analytical / Applied / Inorganic)
Physics as ancillary subject in B.Sc
Mathematics at H.Sc level

Life Sciences

M.Sc in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Genetics / Botany / Zoology / Bioinformatics / Agriculture etc.

Additional requirement:

Chemistry / Biochemistry / Physics or related subject in B.Sc.

Required National Level Qualification

Candidates must have valid score/certificate in at least one national level exam:

Joint Entrance Screening Test
ICMR JRF Exam
ICAR JRF Exam
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering
DBT JRB Biotechnology Eligibility Test
Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences

The score must be valid as on 1 July 2026.

BARC JRF 2026 Selection Process

The selection process includes:

Final selection will be based solely on interview performance.

BARC JRF Salary / Fellowship

Selected candidates will receive:
