SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification for 835 Apprentice Posts
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has released the Apprentice Recruitment Notification 2026-27 for engagement of 835 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The recruitment includes Trade Apprentices, Graduate Apprentices, and Technician (Diploma) Apprentices in various engineering and non-engineering disciplines.
Eligible Indian candidates can register through the NAPS/NATS portal and complete the application process on or before 26 August 2026. The walk-in document verification and selection process will be conducted from 01 September to 26 September 2026 at Rourkela Steel Plant, Odisha.

Educational Qualification
Trade Apprentice
- ITI Pass in the relevant trade from a Government-recognized institute.
Graduate Apprentice
- BE/B.Tech or Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University.
Technician Apprentice
- Diploma in the relevant Engineering discipline from a recognized institute.
Non-Engineering Apprentices
Candidates holding BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, Nursing, Pharmacy and other specified qualifications are also eligible according to the notification.
Age Limit (As on 31 August 2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 28 Years
Age relaxation will be provided as per Government of Odisha rules.
Stipend
Trade Apprentices
- ₹10,560 per month
- COPA & Welder: ₹9,600 per month
Graduate Apprentices
- ₹12,300 per month
Technician (Diploma) Apprentices
- ₹10,900 per month
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Must have passed the qualifying examination as a regular candidate.
- Eligible pass-out years: 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
- Candidates awaiting results are not eligible.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training are not eligible.
- Candidates with one year or more job experience after qualification are not eligible.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on academic merit through the walk-in process.
Weightage:
- 30% Marks in Class 10
- 70% Marks in ITI/Diploma/Degree
There is no written examination.
