Invites applications for the post of Fireman
FIREMAN:
Pay Scale: `9000 – 16400
Educational Qualifications: A. Matric (10th) or equivalent passed WITH i. Basic regular course of minimum 06 months duration on elementary firefighting from a recognized University / Institute of State Government / Central Government of India or ii. General Regular Fire Fighting course from Defence Institute of Fire Research, New Delhi or iii. Sub - Officer‟s regular course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur AND B. Must be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties. C. Candidates would also be tested on minimum endurance parameters and physical standards. Refer Clause B.2.i. and G.3.3.6 for complete specifications of Fireman.
AGE LIMIT (Column iv) Maximum age limit is for „General‟ category candidates. For relaxation in age criteria applicable to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/ExSM category candidates and those candidates who have undergone apprenticeship training in NFL, refer to Clause Nos. E-3.3.3 – E-3.3.9 of this advertisement.
1) MINIMUM ENDURANCE TEST PARAMETERS a. Running a distance of 100 yards with a weight of 60 kilogram in 90 seconds; b. Lifting the hooks ladder to a vertical position by 3rd and 6th round; c. Climbing a rope or a vertical pipe to height of 8-10 feet from ground. 2) MINIMUM PHYSICAL STANDARDS a. Height** (without shoes) - minimum 165 cms; b. Chest** (unexpanded) - minimum 81 cms; c. Chest** (expanded) - minimum 85 cms; d. Weight - minimum 50 kgs.; e. Eyesight - 6/6 both eyes with or without glasses; f. Should possess Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence ** Concession of 2.5 cms. in height and/or chest may be allowed for the candidates permanently domiciled in hilly areas of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam and hill region of West Bengal, Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas, Kashmir Valley, Leh & Ladakh regions of J&K.

For the post of Fireman a. In addition to Clause Nos. 3.1 – 3.6, candidates applying for the post of Fireman should note that their suitability for the job shall be adjudged on qualifying the minimum endurance test parameters as well as minimum physical standards, as mentioned at Clause No. B.2.i. of this advertisement. It should be noted that candidates would be shortlisted, on the basis of their performance in online test, in the ratio of 01:05 i.e. 05 candidates for 01 post and called for adjudging their suitability at Nangal Unit, till the posts are filled up. b. Candidates shortlisted and called for testing of their endurance test parameters as well as physical standards shall be allowed reimbursement of to and fro single Sleeper Class Rail/Bus fare from the nearest railway station of the correspondence/mailing address (as mentioned in their online application form) to Nangal Unit by the shortest route on production of necessary proof. Reimbursements shall be made online directly into the bank account of the candidate through IMPS / NEFT; c. Shortlisted candidates have to qualify the minimum endurance test parameters as well as minimum physical standards in order to get selected for the post of Fireman. These tests will be of qualifying nature and those candidates who qualify shall be issued offer of appointment in the order of their merit of online examination. d. Those candidates who fail to qualify either of the minimum endurance test standards and/or physical standards shall forfeit their candidature for the post of Fireman, irrespective of their position in merit list and no queries/claims shall be entertained in this regard.
