Educational Qualifications: ITI in Respective Trade

STIPEND I. The apprentices are eligible for monthly stipend as per Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprenticeship Rules 1992 as amended from to time. II. The trainee is not eligible for any TA-DA/Boarding or Lodging expenses incurred during the period of training. ONGC will not provide any financial assistance towards transportation.

SELECTION Selections for engagement of Apprentices would be based on the basis of marks obtained in the stated qualification and Merit drawn thereon. In case of a similar number in merit, a person with higher age would be considered.

GENERAL CONDITIONS 1. Candidates are advised to carefully read the full advertisement for details of eligibility criteria and selection modalities before submission of application. 2. The candidates should NOT have undergone Apprenticeship either in ONGC or in any other organisation, earlier or pursuing Apprenticeship Training as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended 3. Candidates, who had training or job experience for a period of one year or more after the attainment of these qualifications, shall NOT be eligible for being engaged as Apprentices. 4. Only for Technician Apprentices (for trades mentioned in Sl. No. 18-22) : The applicant for the position should NOT have completed three years after passing of the qualifying examination as on the cut-off date of eligibility i.e. 28.03.2019. In case the date of Declaration of result is not mentioned in the Mark Sheet, the candidate must submit a certificate mentioning the date of publication of result from the Principal of the Polytechnic/ College / Institute from where the candidate pursued his Diploma course at the time of verification of documents. 5. ONGC shall have no obligation to offer regular employment to Apprentices during and/or after the completion of the apprenticeship period. After successful completion of Apprenticeship period, candidates shall be relieved from the respective work area. 6. Any corrigendum/addendum etc. or updates with regard to this advertisement shall be made available on our website www.ongcindia.com and www.ongcapprentices.co.in only. 8. Candidates with qualification acquired through Distance Learning Mode or Part Time Mode or Correspondence Mode shall not be considered. 9. Candidates having higher/professional qualification of Graduate and above Degree in Engineering, Degrees of MCA, MBA or its equivalent 2-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing/Finance/Human Resource/MSW/Personnel Management & Industrial Relations, CA/ICWA, Master’s Degree in Journalism/Public Relations & Mass Communication, PhD, LL.B. and any other Graduate and above professional qualification, need not apply as they 10 have higher qualifications than the prescribed induction level qualifications for the advertised seats. However, the aforesaid list of higher qualifications mentioned above is not exhaustive. Management may determine any other qualification as a higher qualification which is/ are not listed above. The decision of the management in this regard shall be final and no further enquiry shall be entertained in this respect. 10. Suppression of information regarding possession or pursuing higher qualification shall render a candidate ineligible for consideration at any stage of selection & termination any time during engagement, if engaged. 11. The candidature of the applicant would be provisional and subject to subsequent verification of certificates. In case it is detected at any stage of engagement or thereafter, that a candidate does not fulfil the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/doctored/false information/certificate/documents or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcomings is/are detected even after engagement, his/her engagement is liable to be terminated. 12. Engagement of selected candidates is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Act. All such engagement will also be subject to all relevant Rules/policies/guidelines of the Corporation. 13. Educational Qualifications:
Ex-Apprentices of Trade Apprentice (Fitter)/Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): 3 years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from recognized Institute/ University with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General/EWS/SC/ST/OBC candidates or Matric with ITI in Fitter Trade with Pass class.


Important Instructions: 1. The prescribed qualification should be from a recognized Indian University/Institute as a regular full time Degree / Diploma course (including a sandwich diploma course with industrial training as part of the course; with no break) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates against reserved positions) in aggregate. For ITI (Fitter), only a pass shall be eligible. Qualification acquired through Part-Time / Correspondence / Distance learning mode shall render the candidate ineligible. 2. Candidates possessing Diploma under recognized lateral entry scheme (Class–XII (Sc.)/ ITI admitted in 2nd year of Diploma course) shall also be considered eligible subject to meeting prescribed percentage of marks on the basis of aggregate of 4 semesters in the diploma course. 3. Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as Engineering Graduates/MBA/MCA/CA/CS/ICWA/LLB or those claiming possession of a Qualification equivalent to the Qualification prescribed shall not be considered for any of above posts. Qualification of MSc (Chemistry) shall not be considered a disqualification for post code 101. However, percentage requirementshall be applied on graduation level exam (BSc–PCM) only. 4. Regular full-time ITI (Fitter) course recognised by NCVT/SCVT shall also be considered. 5. A candidate is allowed to apply for only one discipline. In case of receipt of more than one application for more than one discipline, all the applications will be rejected. 6. Qualification for the purpose of this clause would mean the qualification based on which candidature is offered or considered claimed by a candidate. Prescribed qualification shall be strictly adhered to. 7. Eligible Ex-Apprentices of Paradip Refinery shall be allowed to avail maximum two opportunities (three opportunities for ex-apprentices belonging to SC/ST category) for employment under Stage-I Recruitment process. 8. Ex-apprentices who are not successful in stage-I selection process, may avail opportunity for recruitment against vacancies notified through open advertisement under stage-II recruitment on All India basis subject to their meeting the prescribed eligibility conditions. 9. A candidate employed in Govt. / Govt. During the period of 2 year training, Trainees will also get Medical facility for self, spouse and dependent children. Leave etc will be as per the rules of the company. The emoluments for the above post on confirmation after 2 years of training will include basic pay, industrial dearness allowance, reimbursement of local travelling expenses and other facilities such as medical facility for self and family, provident fund, gratuity, LTC, etc., as per rules of the company.
